K&N Power Gains?

Hey guys. Has anyone used the K&N replacement filter? and if so has anyone noticed better throttle response, fuel economy, or power from using it. I am not referring to the K&N intake kits, only the replacement stock air filter.

i had one, but did not notice any improvements, other than it is cheaper than the OEM filter, and lasts 1,000,000 miles.

These new stangs are very computer sensitive and even the added flow of the K&N panel filter (which would normally be a good thing) can throw this particular computer off."

I installed one after reflashing my car w/the 93 octane Brenspeed tune. It seemed like it might have made a slight difference using the SOTP dyno. My recommendation is not to do this if you're looking for any kind of really measurable gain. Years ago I put one in my 1995 GT and didn't really notice any difference. Nothing like what I got from a CAI or underdrives. I only bought this one because I had a $50 gift certificate for my dealer's accessories store, and it was one of the few things that they had for my car. Everything else was geared toward 4X4's.

Yeah thats what I thought. I have a yamaha r1 also and you can't do a lot to motorcycles without tuneing the ecu. I don't want to do a lot to my mustang, maybe just make it sound better so I guess I will just get some decent mufflers. Any suggestions?

I put one in my 06 GT and noticed a difinite improvement in low end torque as well as over all performance. I think they are with the money, however it depends on how much HP you want and how much you want to spend.

You could always try one and if you don't like it, sell it on Stangnet.

Did you make up your statement as well as your term

I have a "drop-iner" in my 06 GT and it runs and performs great.

I have been running one in my 97 GT for years and never a problem.

By the SOTP-o'meter ... what are the dyno numbers before and after? or atleast what does your A/F run at WOT on a wideband?
