you can pick up a set of e7's for cheap. Send em out to get ported and polished with a valve spring job. And pick up an explorer u/l for 200 bucks. Then slap the kb on it. you'll be safe and you can run more boostIf you think about it it'll only be about 500$ more and you'll be up their in hp/tq.. Then maybe nitrous?:Track:
OK, so now he would be 4 grand into a 300hp combo. A novi 1000 can be picked up used for a grand and make 300hp with the stock parts and 6lbs of boost. Don't get me wrong KB's are bad azz but why spend more to do less?
I depends on what is done to the heads and who does them. I have valves and a valve job (not sure what a valve spring job is) in my E7s (unported), a stock cam, a Cobra intake ($250 for that and a 65mm TB) and all the rest of the bolt ons. My car in its prime made 272/316. Toss a blower on that and mid to higher 300s wouldn't be hard at all, maybe even 400 to the tire with the right pulleys!
KB's are the best for a fun street stang. They are perfectly fine on a 5.0, they won't make as much power as say a Cobra like 25th said, but it will really be fun.
You should however port your heads with bigger valves, see thumper for that and you need to upgrade the fuel pump, injectors and exhaust. the stock cam is really good with a KB.
If I put a Blowzilla on a 427cid stroker I could make 700HP and TQ but that has nothing to do with his STOCK car. And as per Kenny Bells own literature, the cobra lower is only worth 5hp over the stock lower. Put both blowers on the same STOCK car and the Novi will make more power and the KB will make more torque. It comes down to what you want. If you want to be fast get the novi. If you want to roast the tires from stop light to stop light get the KB
64cc chamber on stock e7's
Forced induction is just that. A stock intake will flow a lot of air when it is forced through. An engine is nothing more than a air compressor. It sucks the air in on the down stroke. If the heads are junk it will not get as much air into the cylinder in the allotted amount of time. With a blower it forces the air into the cylinder regardless of how restrictive it is. That was my point when I stated that KB's own website and literature only show a 5hp gain with the cobra intake. Better heads and intake will make it more efficient but it is not a requirement. For what fox wants he could do the KB on his car the way it sits and never want anymore.
Fox, Didn't you just put a new or rebuilt STOCK aod in your car? It won't last long Unless you build it up some. You will need a converter as well.

Yeah, I think I'm going to get GT40 heads. Give me a nice-good flow, for a pretty good price. What would a good converter be for my setup?
KBs for fox's suck...
They are nothing like a KB for a new Cobra if thats your thinking.
Now don't get me wrong they will still make power, but your limited with it. If your content with so so power, and good torque then it might be perfect for you.
