i am currently saving up for a KB 1.7L I/C Kit for My 04 GT. I am 1/2 way there and by next spring I should have enough. My questions are other than the kit what else do I need to buy? so far my list is as follows:

KB 9psi Kit- $4900.00 + Tax
KB 90mm Meter + chip- $ ???
KB 75mm tb + Big Tube Kit- $ ???
KB Guages boost + fuel psi- $ ???

The mods I have so far on my 04 are in my sig, please let me know if I need to add anything to the list I want to have all the bases covered when I go to purchase the kit. Any help would be appreciated :hail2:

I just installed the 9 psi basic kit on my car and got 380 HP/370 TQ to the wheels, so I would say just go for the basic kit for now. I also agree on the subject of gauges: I had bought the KB gauges and was disappointed with them. I have since upgraded to Autometer (Phantom Series) and am much happier with them. The only major things you will need that weren't on your list are spark plugs (NGK TR6's) and Coolant.

One more question I had was the parts that are recommended such as the KB 90mm Meter + chip,KB 75mm tb + Big Tube Kit do I NEED these parts to install the KB or are the just recommended for better operation?
I just want to know if the basic kit will have everything I need to install it and turn the key.

You don't need the Kool Air kit, Meter, BT, and TB to get you going but it will make a difference. The chip you get with the 9 psi IC kit will have to be redone, I'm sure, if you go back and add the meter (maybe new injectors) and other parts later. KB will update the chip to handle the new mods for an extra charge. Also, if you get the basic IC kit, you may get the smaller injectors - mine came with the 42 psi green injectors. And I also got the smaller blower pulley with my kit because sometimes the kits don't make a full 9 pounds boost with the regular 9 psi pulley...when you get the higher flowing inlet components. I ended up with 11 psi on the "9 psi" kit.

And as for the internals go my stock engine and rear axles are doing okay, but my automatic transmission lost 3rd and 4th gear last night.

The CAI, MAF and TB are not manditory, but are well worth it. I went with a MAC CAI, Accufab TB, and a Lightning MAF over the KB kit because I didn't like the way the KB kit looked. Looks kinda like dryer hose. Also, I ordered a Chicane coolant tank, because again I thought it looked better. I have a link to pics in my sig.

As for the chip, I went with a custom right out of the gate. I did this as a friend of mine got his kit before I got mine. He ended up going back and forth with KB three times before he finally got to 400RWHP. His first one that came only had him barely over 300 with a 5 speed car.

Gauge wise, I got the Saleen pod with gauges, as I bought my car as an N/A Saleen and wanted the gauges all to match. The pod comes with a Boost gauge and an air temp gauge that reads the temp after the intercooler.
