I was ready to order Koni shocks for my 66 coupe and then I read that Koni's can lose their adjustment ability if bottomed or topped. Nothing is ever easy. :nono:

I read this here: shocks

Also Koni adjusts off the vehicle and Spax can be set on the vehicle. Not a big deal really, the fronts would be easy to adjust and once you got it done it's done!

Anyone have koni's lose the adjustment feature?
And what about those Ruthefords AVO's?

I set for type of track (or street) and like the SPAX for the easy adjustment. Takes me 5-10 minutes max. New car has Chris Alstons Varishocks that are way easier to adjust (no tool reqd.).
No Koni experience to compare, sorry!

I've got Koni's on my '66 and have never lost adjustments, but then again, I've never bottomed out the suspension.

However, I've got Koni's on another car I have and have bottomed and topped out the suspension and have not lost adjustment. The suspension limits are within the limits of the shock. On the early Shelbys that came with Koni's, the front shock mount had a washer welded to where the shock bolts up so it raised the shock mounting slightly. This probably prevented the shock from reaching its upper limit.
