I guess if you dont know what it stands for you cant help

Anyone been there recently and have any experience on how bad it sucks with the altitude and track prep? I havent been there in about 10 years so I forgot what its like. Im just wondering if I should waste my time running a high 14 or even more scary a 15 and coming home depressed.

I dont suppose there is a chance in hell of running a 13 with my setup?

Hey whats up man, I used to live in Thousand Oaks, my brothers still do.

Regarding LACR, I will say your car will go a 14.5 up there, its a bad altitude and the winds doesnt help either..

If you want to get a 13 second time slip go to Calsbad, takes about 2 1/2 hrs. away, before San Diego.. but the track is roughly at sea level, and has a nice cool ocean breeze..

I have ran a 12.8 at LACR on a Friday, then drove to Carlsbad on Sat. and went a 12.3

I too know the pain of LACR... My S10 wouldnt go faster than 16.3's there... and I had a reg cab V6 auto (SS pkg.) with alot of work done... ran like 15.7's corrected.

I'm hoping to be high 14's there... even if its 14.999

Its a crappy track but IMO its better than getting a ticket for running on the street. Carlsbad is far, especially when you factor traffic in. Ca Speedway limits the runs you get every night.

I'm in Simi Valley.

You are right about LACR. The sand on the grandstand side of the launch lanes blows across, especially the right lane. Otherwise it's not a bad 1/4. Relatively bump free, but I won't even think about running when the winds are up. Way too much sand and you fight the car the whole way. Wednesdays are cool though, not many cars show up for "run whatcha brung" and you can get a lot of passes in. Here's the link to their website. http://www.lacr.net/index.html

I just ran two weeks ago, and I can say I was pissed. Track has no traction what so ever(I was in the right lane maybe the post above was right about the sand) anyway I was only able to run twice, best time was 14.1 @ almost 99mph with a 2.2 60. I am on street tires but I don't suck that bad, well at least I didn't think. Only other expierience on a track was an 1/8 mile track in North Dakota. Regardless of the conditions it is still a 1/4 mile track and I had a lot of fun. My buddy went with me who owns a 98 TA, automatic with exaust and a power programmer and his best run out of two was a 14.4 trapping at 97 or so.

Traffic is not really that bad going to Carlsbad, only because you have to leave at like 5am to get there when the track

Nice to see so many people around the Simi /T.O area, I miss Thousand Oaks.. I go there once a month to visit my family.. its always nice going there cause my car is way faster then it is in Vegas.. even a G-tech will show .4th's
