What kind of software is out there that you can tune your car with a laptop? Is it even possible without a dyno anyway? I'm thinking if I got a wideband O2, and it logged the parameters when I took it down the track it could be tweaked afterwards. Am I crazy or is this possible, or better yet, a reality?

i've got the EFI Solutions software that lets me program the car from a laptop. problem is, i don't know how much longer EFI will be around. SCT has a flasher that you connect to your laptop, program it, then connect it to the car to load the new program.

with the SCT version, how do you get the information to modify it?

I use tweecerRt and a PLX wideband. Does exactly what you are describing.

TweecerRT runs about 500 but you can get the base version for around 300. The Rt is woth the extra money because of the datalogging capabilities. Then coupled with the plx wideband for 300 and you no longer need a dyno tune. you can tune between runs at the track. The learning curve is a little steep, but the are some good forums where people will help you get started.
