I recently posted about control arms causing my rear end to whine, because they are aftermarket with polyurethane bushings. My rearend is not perfect. The whine is no noticable with the stockers on. I would like to keep the steeda on because they really helped the wheel hop. I was wondering if using dynamat on the trunk floor and underneath the rear seat. Also coating the under body with sound spray. I wonder if that would really make a difference or just put the stock ones back on?

JT,
I'll tag along with your question. Same situation...
FR 410's and Steeda billet LCA's. The gear whine is terrible.:notnice:
I have had the gears checked twice for set-up. There is no problem with the set-up. If there is not a sound deadening solution, I will pull the LCA's off, or I will drop down to 373's or 355's.:bang:

hey anthony do you have any experience with this problem? I wasn't sure if the time and cost of using sound deadening products would really make a noticable difference. My pattern on the drive side it right on, the coast is so so, but I really don't want to put the stock ones back on. But the gear whine is very annoying.

The LCA are not the cause of your gear whine. Turn the music up!

I've dealt with noises in the past, but not from lca's. In my experience the use of sound deadening products like undercoating and matting do a decent job, but do not eliminate all of the noise. At this point you don't want to remove the lca's so I would go ahead with the sound deadening treatment.
