hey guys im fixing to start biulding the engine for my 88 lx hatch, heres the parts list of what i got, keep in mind this is just a fun street car that will get drivin at the track a couple times a month just for the hell of it.

94 351w (roller model)
brodix aluminum heads (not sure what series they are actually there still on my 302)
E303 ford cam (also already in my 302)
Comp Cams 1.6 RR's
Ford racing 28oz damper
Ford 28oz flywheel
Ford racing oil pan and oil pick up for fox swap
trick flow efi intake manifold
BBK 75mm billet throttle body
bbk Long Tube headers for fox swap
bbk x o\r x pipe
Magnaflow magnapacks
Hurst short throw
tremec 3650 transmission
MSD pro billet
bbk alumium pulleys
March alternator and power steering brackets
edelbrock polished water pump
ALL bolts will be replaced with ARP bolts
smog pump delete and egr delete
SCT chip and get tuned at dynospeed

Couple things i havent got yet are the clutch (not sure what would be a good clutch for streetability, i was think a king cobra clutch)
Also i havent yet purchased a gasket kit, i want something very good especially for the head gaskets, any suggestions? thanks guys let me know what yall think.

sounds like it will be fun and +1 on a better cam, i got a crane cam first and after some desktop dyno info found that comp had a better cam that would give 20+ more hp over the crane so thats a $130 part good for 20+ hp. thats a good bang for the buck anyday

hey guys, well i guess the only reason i was gonna go with the e303 was because i already have it, but yall made a good point too, whats another 130-160 dollars when your doing a biuld right? i had been thinking about about a comp cam today also, does anyone know a good cam for mid to top end power? im also going to be using 1.6 rr's so i gotta make sure its not too much lift for the piston to valve clearance. thanks again guys.

Also im really only exspecting about 300-350whp outa this setup thats gonna be with a full dyno tune, to high?

I would be talking with one of the guys that make custom cams, Jay Allen at Camshaft Innovations or Ed Curtis @ FTI

Max lift has absolutely nothing to do with PtV clearance. It's all in the overlap/duration and what the valves are doing between the exhaust and intake stroke.

If you talk to one of those custom cam guys, they'll set you up and put you in the right direction. :nice:

people will forever get that confused. I know for awhile there Jay was have health issues, hopefully all is well but I'm sure he is way behind. people where going nuts trying to find him and wondering why he wasn't emailing them back.
