I dont think it will be a problem using that gauge with any WB analog output, just you will have to calibrate the ouptput to the gauge range,
Yes that review looks kinda biased, but all the other WB setups must fullfill some requeriments to fully ship to the world , otherwise they will not be used as they are today , its just a matter of taste and brand likeness , other times its more a budget issue and so on, in fact all those setups including the NGK one uses Bosch sensor so all of them must be really close to each other all the way up to the controller where there can be the differences.
