Ok I have a Tremec 3550. Its a older tranny. I got it cheap, made some repairs that it needed, and it has been in my car for a while now. The shifter is sloppy, even after replacing the stock shifter with a UPR shifter. This buggs me alot. Its not sloppy front to rear, just side to side. It makes for grabbing a gear kinda hard. Then last night when racing, I busted the imput shaft. I run a SPEC stage 5 clutch. I have a Supercharged 351 that puts out tons of torque. OK so here is my main question. Im thinking about fixing this tranny once again, and sending off the parts to Liberty Gear to have them "Liberty Shifted". What would I expect from this tranny when I get it back? Is it going to be hard to drive? Is the Engaugement when shifting gears real clunky? Their website is not going to talk of the drawbacks to this kind of modification. So has anyone on here done this, and how does the transmission react different than it did before? I will really appreciate any info on this subject. Thanks guys.
