Hey guys. I purchased a set of slightly used lifters. When I got them they were of course still oily/dirty. My question is what is the best we to prepare/clean them before I install them in my car. Some kind of solvent? Is there a specific type of oil I should soak them in before they are installed? Thanks for the heads up :nice:

Just soak them in gas and put some gas in an old windex (or some kind) of spray bottle and blow all of the old junk out of the seals on them. or use some brake part cleaner. the kind in an aerosol can. the pressure helps get junk out. then make sure they are good and dry before you install them cause if there is still cleaning agent in there they it will delute oil that gets in in the future. then just simply install them and i like to pour just a little bit of motor oil over them before installing my rods. just helps with priming.
