lifter opinions

ok, i used search, got tired of reading something different in every post, so heres my question:

i doing my top end, gt-40 heads and a B cam, engine has roughly 60-70 K on it, new cam is used, about 2500 miles, will my stck lefters be ok? i didnt have any problems with them when i tore the engine apart, is there any way to check to make sure they are good? also if i re-use the stock lifters, do i need to soak them in oil for a day or so to make sure they wont compress when im setting my valve lash? and any tips on setting valve last? FMS 1.6 RR pedistal mount

+1 for learning how to test lifters. I have my heads off and will be reinstalling soon. Might as well test the lifters if there is a way to do so!
