lighter wheels

The Steeda wheels are anything but light, despite the name. Gram lights are pretty light, but not cheap. Then again, any lightweight wheel will not be cheap. You won't find any lightweight muscle-car style wheels, but these cars actually look good with certain tuner style wheels, which tend to be lighter weight. Greg Weld just came out with some 17's that supposedly fit, also.

well to be honest I was planning on running a set of lighter weight wheels purely for road racing/ auto X that I plan on doing. These saleens are alot heavier then stock even, and at the track it's killin me

I just bought 18 inch GT4 wheels from american muscle. They replaced stock 18 inchers. The weight savings at all four corners is 18 pounds. Not super light but an improvement.

stock 17" 21 lbs, something like SSR 15lbs, 20" 30+lbs. These numbers are for wheels only.

Greg Weld's 17's fit with no spacer etc. you just have to you use their lugs. I recently emailed them and they got back to me within 10 hrs in regards to their 17 inch drag star (simialr to Weld prostars) and the fronts should be out at the end of Sept. and the rears 2-3 weeks later for those who care. I know the day they come out I will be purchasing and I will keep you posted. They also claim 10% off msrp if you order factory direct from them.

i was wondering why i havent seen anyone with those wheels yet.

did they give you any idea on pricing? i was considering those wheels, but i hadn't seen anyone have them on our cars.

17x5 and 17x10 would look killer.

Yea they do look good, however the drag stars are not out yet and the ones that are similar to draglites are backordered. They look really good in my opinion and have a nice stance, but I am waiting for the drag stars and the pricing is very reasonalbe when compared to bogarts etc. I beleive the pricing is simialr to Weld's. Summit has pricing on the 17in draglite style if you want to check them out.

The factory polished Bullitts are what I have and they way a ton. According to Muscle Mustang tests, taking the front 18s off for a set of Bogart fronts saves 66lbs in the front which is a whole lot. I know greg welds aren't as light as Bogarts but I'm hoping to drop 20-25lbs off the front with them.

oh wow i didn't realize how heavy the stock polished 18s were.

i'm not going for wheels for weight savings, but now i know where i highly doubt i'll go to for a wheel.

i can't even imagine the 20s people are throwing on these cars.

I hate to say it but you have you have to look to the ricer wheels (which most share our offset) to get light.

Rays (Racing Hart) have 18" wheels that come in at 16lbs. Volk branded come in at 16lbs and 17lbs for 18s. Gram Lights are Rays/Volks cheaper alternative.

And all of them will run you $2400 or more for four. Ugh.

If it's any comfort even the Stangs runnining in Grand Am use Fiske wheels and they weigh like 23lbs! Unsprung weight doesn't seem to be on high order for Stangs.
