Progress Thread LILCBRA's 87 GT vert project (now prepping to replace the left floor pan)

@AeroCoupe - stumbled on this in my internet misadventures. Seems like it's an SN95 setup with (maybe) redrilled rotors and some kind of appropriate hub? Sounds like it's a Holley offshoot website from the little bit of research I've done. But it seems it might be a good 4 lug option.... What's your take?

Those are all made by PBR....or at least should be. Baer has a contract to put their logo on one casting, just like Ford has the right to put COBRA on the cobra versions. They also have blanks, which made it on Machs, and Corvettes and a few other vehicles.

Who knows, maybe there are some generic aftermarket clone castings, but every version of that PBR i've handled has had the PBR logo on it somewhere.

I like their kits.

That is something I don't think I've seen before. They used the modified OEM GT spindles for a Cobra front brake conversion?

That's pretty cool.

I just went and put everything I think I'd need in their cart just to get an idea of how much it'd set me back. It looks like it'd be around $1800 shipped, not including a new master cylinder. This may be my Christmas present to my self if I don't pull the trigger on a lift.

Wait... On which car?

I've lost track of who has what.

Was actually thinking of replacing the black set with the anthracite, but then they came out with the staggered turbines. If I went with the anniversary wheels, I'd go ahead with the 5 lug conversion, but I seriously think that the turbines would be kinda awesome on the car once it's done.

If you can picture it in your mind's eye, I'm thinking of painting it as stock but have Mazda Soul Red replace the cabernet. I think that would go well with the beige interior and top and the turbines would round out the stockish look. That, and how many GTs do you see around with turbines anymore? Hopefully they're as easy to keep clean as they advertise, but I suspect they would be....

Speaking of paint and body.... I have a couple big parts on my wishlist that still need to find their way to me. Going to ditch the urethane rear bumper cover in place of a fiberglass Cobra, and a 2 inch cowl hood to replace the stocker. Otherwise, I think I have everything else for the body as long as the skirts can be straightened out.

I am reminded and you can do your own Google walking to see if you agree that red cars like chrome wheels.

Even, over polished silver.

But damn... as I say that I come across this:
