Well I put the fan clutch from the 351w on the fox fan and finished installing the sve radiator and everything seems to be good now. Temperature got up to about 203* and held pretty solid.

The factory fan shroud will be just about useless with the on 3. On my car the shroud would need to be cut up pretty bad for the cold side piping to the drivers side of the intercooler.

I use contour fans controlled by two 30 amp relays and my mspnp2. I have 20 amp fuses on each power feed wire to the relay. Megasquirt grounds the relays. Pretty simple set up.

Thanks, that's good to know. I was already planning on converting to the contour fans once the fun begins with installing the turbo.

How do you like the kit? Anything to watch out for?

I like the On3 kit. Actually fit really well but had to modify the cold side pipe going to the throttle body. My intake is on a 1 inch spacer so it didn't line up. Added about 2 inches of stainless to the end. The adapter for the factory oil sender was the wrong thread pitch ( quick fix at lowest ). I used copper high temp at all the hot side connections. Wish I would've gotten the hot side...after a couple years it has normal surface rust ( didn't wrap it ). This winter I'll probably pull it and either get it coated or paint it with good high temp grill paint.

No complaints about the kit...it does seem like it should have a support bar for the turbo flange but haven't had any issues.

Sounds good, glad to hear that everything fit up pretty good. I was planning on mocking everything up and then possibly getting the hotside ceramic coated. My plan is to mock everything up first then out comes the engine and will be either making my own smoothed fender aprons or buying the scott rod panels and try to neaten up the wiring under the hood. I see alot of pics of the nice smoothed and tucked engine bays and it makes me realize how much better mine could be. Probably won't be until winter before any of the serious work begins. Thanks for the heads up on some of the issues you ran into @90sickfox.

That was my plan too. Put it in the car and got it running...with a91what doing most of the tuning. ( well...all of it ). Been about 2 years now.

The only other thing the kit needs is a hanger on the down pipe. I've got the on3 Y pipe and the weight of the exhaust sitting on the turbo doesnt sit well with me. Haven't had issues with that either but would help to add some support.

Also, I got the down pipe sock and turbo blanket from on3 as well. Worth every penny. My headers and crossover aren't wrapped. Had to put heat shields on plug wires, rack boot on drivers side, rerouted power steering lines, and ac lines. The hose by the passenger strut tower runs close to the turbo. I plan on rerouting that in the near future.

Yeah I know time gets away from you pretty quickly with cars, or any hobby for that matter. I fully expect to have add some supports, brackets, hangers etc. That’s good to hear that the on3 turbo blanket is worth it. Any reason you didn’t wrap the headers and crossover pipe? Afraid it would retain moisture and rot everything out?
