Longtubes

Comparatively speaking, the s550 is much easier to install longtubes on compared to the sn95. I went with stainless power and I'm about 65% done with the install. The motor is back on its mounts and the headers are tightened down. I will button it up either tomorrow or the day after.

The passenger side is a PITA... The forward most nut is extremely difficult to get at. I also had to remove all of the studs from the passenger side and use the supplied bolts. Drivers side is a breeze.

I kind of feel like I picked a fight with Mike Tyson right now. It would have been so much smoother if I had a lift. Crawling around on the garage floor makes my entire body hurt. Lol.

Too bad the merge pipes don't work with the Magnaflow competition X-pipe. I will be driving it to an exhaust shop tomorrow morning without a catback... FML.

Just getting to reading this now, that really sucks. Glad to hear that it all worked out well in the end

Yeah it did. Although, I am very unhappy about the exhaust shop... They put profit over want and quality... I'm not sure wtf they were thinking. I clearly explained that I installed the headers and that I'm not an idiot, but instead of listening to what I told them I wanted done, they instead decided to simply weld the merge pipes directly to the X-pipe... And tried to charge me almost $200 to install 2 bolts, 2 clamps, and weld 2 pipes to the X-pipe. After I called them out... They dropped it to $150ish, but the f'd up thing is that they

A): tried to get me out of the shop while the work was being performed

B): acted like I was an ass hole for telling them to raise the lift again so I could see what they did

And...

C): When I asked why they thought it was worth $200 to weld 2 pipes, install 2 clamps, and install 2 bolts... They had the audacity to tell me that "I don't understand what they have to deal with... Guys show up with cars this time of year with their tax money and expect us to put their car back together"...

I cordially responded that I don't have a lift or a mig (or tig) welder and that they are working on a brand new car with 2600 miles... Not a vehicle sitting in a back yard. Dude all but openly admitted it wasn't fair. I told him that I don't mind supporting local business but this isn't really cool. Whatever, it's done... I've got full 3 inch and no exhaust leaks. It just pisses me off that they essentially charged me a shop rate of over $150 an hour for $30 worth of work.

Car sounds amazing tho.

I'm surprised more that they wouldn't give you an up front cost. I'm always straight forward with my customers with cost before doing the work. I honestly think they should have been more in the 85-100 dollar range as odourless that is excessive. Keep in mind the welder they used is a few thousand dollars not to mention shop overhead and insurance costs, either way they don't need to ever be Dicks about it. Imho I would use a different shop moving forward.

I wouldn't have complained at $100 or less. Oh well. I won't be going there again.
