Look what I bought instead of a supercharger?

He allready has an STi so 35k for the kit.

STi's are almost 30 grand (or right over) IIRC, so theres no way your getting that kit for 5 grand, lol.

No offense man, cause I really like STi's, but that price is just un-real. If thats how much money it takes to get 700 hp (crank or wheel) HP out of a Subie I see why there arent alot of them running around with that much HP.

Plus like Benny said, its just motor stuff. Ive heard of people snapping the rest of the drivetrain on a hard launch with a bone stock car. They should include alot more for that price IMO, or maybe STi parts that much more expensive than Stang parts...

Either way, good luck with the project, sounds like your excited about it. STi ll too much money though, lol.

The machine work isn't really a issue.
My car will support the power I got a new stronger driveshaft today.
Fabrication I do all the time so,it will not be a problem since I
have all the tools I will never need.I have the car and am just waiting
until next week when I have time to start phase one of the project. :nice:

Is it just me... or does that post make as much(or as little) sense as spending 35k on that kit?

I am going to call these guys "Xcceleration" up in Hartford tomorrow. Surely there aren't too many of these kits sold, and you would think they would remember all of the two customers that have pawned their 1.5 children for a hideously overpriced 550 RWHP turbo heads/cam kit.

You're just going to break ****. Driveshaft alone isnt enough...you also have 4 halfshafts to worry about, plus the transmission and transfer case.

If you want to make that kind of power, its simply on the wrong platform. Argue with me all you want, but the ONLY true benefit to building a car of that sort is the AWD system. Out of the box for a fun, DD its a great car. But not for what you are doing to it.

I know a guy with a 1st gen Eclipse GSX. It's a 2.0 turbo stroked to 2.3, upgraded turbo and all the goodies. It runs good right now; pretty fast at 22psi on pump gas, but he gets like 10mpg cause it has to run pig rich all the time. Now he's gonna detune it cause the gas mileage sucks so bad. He was gonna build it up for 750-800hp plus a 100shot, but it was gonna cost a crapload. Just the driveshafts were gonna be 2k EACH!.

You're trying to get all that power out of only 4 cylinders on the street, its complete overkill.

This thread is missing something...

The OP isn't posting many details, just repeating the same info.

I call :bs:

I'm sure pennywise is laughing his ass off at us for believe him.

I'm with you. There's no way in hell all that adds to 31.5k...unless it's overnighted from Japan.

But besides that, pennywise would not be that stupid to spend that money and have 550 whp, when he could spend that money on his Stang and probably have 1,000.

I called Team Shinoda for a price quote for a complete Level 3 upgrade on my '02 Mustang and they quoted me a price of.....$45,000.00.....if I supply the car. Guess I'll just have to put that dream on hold until at least 2009, after the next generation Mustang arrives.
