looking 4 advice on clutch

I don't know very much about clutches but i know enough that it's a pain to install & i need one bad, so i'm planning on going by the local mustang shop to see how much they would install one for,
how much does it normally cost to get a clutch installed?
what clutch do you reccomend? should i get a clutch cable and all the other stuff, i'll prob. get a tri-ax also. thanks for the help

I got my clutch from D&D. They have a lot of different clutches and can reccomend one based on your setup/requirements. The clutch cable would be easy enough to replace seperately (as opposed to a throw out bearing or pilot bearing that require transmission removal). Also when I put my tremec in I got my flywheel from D&D for less than the junkyards here wanted for a used one + resurfacing. I have no idea what they are running now.

David (5 SpdGT) has a nice write up on doing a clutch, if you want to read it and see if it is something you want to tackle.

A KC would probably work decently for you, clutch-wise.

Good luck.

There are many clutches out there, with different characteristics. What tranny and goals do you have. With a T-5 you want to stay away from any hard hitting clutches.

Putting in a clutch is a lot of labor because it calls for removal of the tranny, driveshaft, crossmember, and exaust. $300-500 labor is about what you will pay. Be sure to either have the stock flywheel turned, or a new one.
