i'm BRAND NEW to this forum, hopefully i will be a Mach 1 owner real soon, and will be on here a bunch. i'm looking at a nice 1969 Mach 1, and have made an offer on it. it is a RR code car, but original motor was blown in the 70's' and the story is that the original owner found another '69 CJ to put into it. i'm ok with that, but would like to verify that it's actually a 428CJ engine. i'm VERY familiar with checking numbers, castings, dates on Chevy motors, but don't know where to start on this 428. i understand that a 390 could pose as a 428 and it would be difficult to tell the difference? thanks for any help you may have to offer.
