what did you put in search to get the assembly?A quick search on car-part.com returned a lot of results on an 87 thunderbird. Might be the route to go...
incidentally it showed the mustang and mark vii interchange so it is the same part.

[/QUOTE]Some DEI heat shielding over the metal would be a better insulator than the plastic and rubber with header and engine bay heat.
Bed liner or some dynamat might look better, but DEI makes quality products.

Sorry just saw this. I searched for “air box”what did you put in search to get the assembly?
Got to them, there is alot. For now I'm gonna use some heat reflecting stuff and in my junk yard search I'll keep an eye out.Sorry just saw this. I searched for “air box”
sounds like it sucksAround 30 years ago when my 89 had about 35k miles and was still under warrranty, I drove through a heavy rainstorm and ended up twisting 4 of my rods. As soon asI got the car back, off came the intake silencer. I swear it acted as a funnel.
See posts #2 and #3Does any one know what kind of hardware is used to mount the stock air box ? Mine never had it when I bought it. Is it just bolts or special mounts ? Thanks.
