Looking for a fuel cell and jmc dual master cylinder

I'm basicly set on buying the jmc master cylinder from mustang depot. Good price with about 10 bucks shipping and no taxes.

But does anyone know where it's less than $360 to my house?

So is one residual pressure valve needed or two? Also it would be a 2lb correct since I'm running 4 wheel disc brakes. 13" slotted 4 piston SSBC's in the front and 12" ford lincoln single piston rear.

How about a fuel cell that fits in the stock location?
Using the stock fill tube
16 gallon capacity
standard aluminum finish or whatever would be the basic finish
-10an outlet
-8an inlet
yes efi set up.

Any ideas? I'm getting prices from 1,100-1,500

you'd need 2 2lb residuals, one for front brakes, one for rear, since they're seperate circuits.

I've only seen fuel safe fuel cells, but they make a classic mustang drop-in, you just have to drill the mounting holes around the edge of it I think. They also have stock filler neck kits.

I have seen several of these at the track and they are very, very nice.

Mine is of the "dirt track racing" variety and is not a drop in, but it cost about $800 less that the above mentioned "Fuel Safe" drop in type.

I wouldn't think the 2 lb residual valve would be required as long as the master cylinder you are looking at is mounted in the stock location. Am I mis-informed?

From the mpbrakes.com websiter: A two pound residual valve is required whenever the master cylinder is lower than the calipers to prevent backflow of fluid from the calipers to the master.

DONT you have to open the trunk to fill and the fumes inside the trunk would explode or am I missing something

RCI can also custom make you one based off of Eric's design. I just ordered the one Eric designed and it cost less than $400 (aluminum, foam filled, fuel sending unit, gas cap). I would ask to do removable AN fittings on it though as mine are welded in.

Info I've seen about the JMC dual setup has said you need a 2lb residual regardless of its placement. I don't think they specifically said you need one regardless, but they never said if it's mounted above the calipers that you don't need one.

Here it is even wierder, you need 2lb residuals for discs, but you don't need anything for drums.

Tom B, no fumes as their is a vent. My vent tube (with a roll over shut off valve) exits just to the side of the tail lamps in the "bucket" that trims out the truck, rear quarter panel, bumper and tail lite area.

You do have to open the truck to fill my tank but that is by design because of the track use. There is a kit to use the standard gas filling cap but I have always thought that is a bad safety design, aka Pinto and all the fires involved with that Ford product because of rear end impacts.

Historic, I find what you say interesting...I have been wanting to somehow swap the fuel cap with something newer so that the damn nozzle will stay put when I fill up [and so it'll seal properly and actually fill up all the way]. I was also thinking of a side-fill, but do you think it's really a better idea to just leave it in the trunk? I like the safety aspect, but I like to put things in the trunk also.

burnout, it is just a personal choice. With a "truck" fill set up you have to be careful with a trunk located battery. The positive needs to be covered very well as one spark with an open gas fill and you will be seeing the far side of the moon.

A side note.

To cover your battery positive terminal, especially in the trunk area, cut a section of radiator hose and use it to cover the terminal. You can snug it up by using wire ties. Cut a round hole in the rubber for the terminal post and simple seal with the wire ties.

Also check out Delta Bay Mustang for the fuel cell. They have custom drop in tanks as well as pans and frames that use off-the-shelf fuel cells. Their prices were the lowest I found about a year ago.

I would just give them a call. Johnny is the guy that knows about this particular tank. It's a 20 gal. unit so you could probably get it down to a 16 if you want. There is a sump if you notice on the pics on Eric's site and you could probably get baffles added as well. I think the most important thing on the tank is the lip that you drill to hold down and any modifications can be added.

Well I think it's just a male AN fitting welded to the tank. I've got -10 on both. I'm running an adapter to go down to -8 through the fuel pump to the carb and the return line is -10.

Well bad news is RCI is currently not taking orders for custom made fuel cells right now. Since according to the person who answered they are back by xxxx about of orders.
