Do you have a link? I have just about completed my order on the hand woven Tommy Bahama safari hat, but if this hat is more pretentious and laden with status I would be interested in checking it out.

I notice that you are NOT running an avatar in this forum. This is a SERIOUS problem as the lack of an avatar indicates that you have little to no status within the forum.
How can one reasonably expect the members of such an elite forum as Stangnet, to take him/her seriously? Members here are the upper crust of the automotive world, as I'm sure that you are aware. Yet you, yourself have not taken your membership seriously enough to display the due reverence, respect, and responsibility that go along with obtaining a place within this organization.
I realize that this may have just been a simple oversight on your part and failed to accurately recognize the serious gravity of the situation. As such, I've taken the time to search out the avatar that best suits you and the status that you've obtained in the real world so that all in your digital presence will be able to recognize your position.
Here is the avatar that I mention. You may need to resize it to conform to the standards set by the forum but I'm sure that will be a small problem, and that someone of your status has people to handle such things.

Thank you so much! As you may know I am new to online forums and was not aware of the stigma associated with not having an avatar. To my dismay I allowed my man servant to take off this Columbus Day, without pay of course, thus leaving me without the help needed to properly resize the image. Maybe you would be a dear and resize it for me? For now I will use my hand woven Tommy Bahama status hat as an avatar.

Glad you are having fun. Quick question; I noticed that you had GT500 wheels. How much status did you gain when you put them on? Do you get more looks of envy? Did you put any of the stickers on (GT500 side stripes, snake stickers, etc)? I have been thinking about doing this, but I will probably just start with the stickers as I am new to customizing my cars.
My cabriolet is far from a base model. It has two of the most expensive options for the 2006 MY:
1. Silky power folding cabriolet top.
2. Hands free transmission.
How many times do I have to say I am not interested in racing. All that extra power is juvenile, and it discourages driving slowly so that paupers can stare and drool in jealousy.

Hey there Status. I did it because I liked it. Better handling, and I liked the Saleen Stripe on the door. But you know buddy, they have entire GT500 kits out there. One of your options is to do the whole baby up and you'll be the talk of the town.

BTW, I love pulling up next to V-6 mustang convert owners. The top is always down so they get the priviledge of hearing the sweet sweet sound of my V-8. Every one of them turns green with envy and they usually end up drooling in their lap.
You may be convinced that everyone who owns a Mustang does it for a status boost, but you're mistaken. Most of us guys who own the 10+ year old Mustangs (especailly the fox body guys) own these cars because we have a passion and an enthusiasm for automobiles. I could care less what others around me drive, because I drive my car for me not for anyone else. I love the way it sounds, I enjoy rowing throught he gears, and above all else I like the process of deciding on the next mod, saving for said mod, installing, and enjoying it.
Your assumption that we enthusiasts spend our time racing through school zones is also flawed. It's quite pathetic that you are such an ego maniac and truly believe the minivan crowd are drooling in envy. FWIW, the dads in the minivans are probably looking at you with disgust thinking "if I had the money for a Mustang, you can be damn sure I'd at least spring for a V-8." On the other hand, if I pull up to a minivan in my SN-95 I often times get a thumbs up from the dad and kids, a "sounds nice" comment, or a "sweet car man" comment. Convertable V-6 Mustangs are everywhere, it's not very often you'll see a clean tastefully modded SN-95 GT, Cobra, or Fox.
