I have more status in my purple daily driver New Yorker than you'll ever have in that base model Mustang... any crumb of status you have driving your car will quickly go away with the addition of a hat and a pipe.

Here's an idea I'd like all sn-95 owners and fox owners to whore up this thread with pics

Here's mine. I loved my Cobra. Check out the Saleen C-Pillars and chrome Y2Ks.

I like you. Are you a status enthusiast? Do you enjoy coasting through low income neighbor hoods and government subsidized housing with the top down? Do you enjoy songs such as "The Good Life" by Kanye West featuring T-Pain?

Oh, no sir. I just don't travel within those circles. Since you asked though... The CD that I keep while driving is an albiet frivelous mix of some of my favorites:

1 Beethoven
Fur Elise

2 Beethoven
Moonlight Sonata (1st mvt)

3 Pachelbel
Canon in D (easy version)

4 Mozart
Eine Kleine Nachtmusik

5 Beethoven
Symphony no.5 in C Minor

6 Beethoven
Ode to Joy (9th Symphony)

7 Mendelssohn
Wedding March

8 Rimsky-Korsakov
The Flight of the Bumblebee

9 Gounod
Ave Maria

10 Vivaldi
Spring from 'The Four Seasons'

11 Beethoven
Fur Elise

12 Bach
Minuet

13 Mozart
Turkish March

14 Beethoven
Fur Elise (original)

15 Vivaldi
'Spring' from the Four Seasons

16 Bach
Air on a G String

17 Chopin
Polonaise

18 Tchaikovsky
Dance of the Flowers from the Nutcracker

19 Brahms
Hungarian Dance

20 Beethoven
7th Symphony 2nd mvt theme (easy arrangement)

I fear that the factory stereo system doesn't deliver to all of the masses. I may need to install a few more speakers and a couple 1000W amps so that others may aspire.

Right now I am looking at a full on GT500 conversion kit on eBay. Basically it is a five in one status package. it includes the front and rear stickers as well as the two side stickers. The icing on the cake; it also has the hood stripe stickers! At $39.99 It seems like a pretty good deal. My only concern is finding a reputable body shop here in Kentucky to do the install. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

My suggestion is that this in its entirety that, this is a bad idea.

Status, your car is actually pretty nice.
But before you waste $$$ on a hat and pipe you really should
invest some $$$ in some decent impressive Wheels. Those wheels you got are
the most UGLY wheels Ive ever seen on a Mustang.

Now THIS is a great start! Some high dollar aftermarket wheels (that noe EVERYONE has) with some new shoes and a lowering kit for an inch to inch and a half.

So here I am in my '07 Stangcabrio6 in Hollywood! Alas, no silky top - just vinyl. Cloth seats, no message center, no my color. It gave new meaning to the term "Plain Jane." Yours probably much nicer. Mine was a rental. Seriously, it drew smiles and thumbs ups. Lots of cool tourists, the lights shining down from the hotel valet area as can be seen on the hood. The attendants were eager to park it. I felt like a million bucks. I didn't want envy or jealousy or anything of that sort. I wanted just plain fun. This was New Years 2006 going into 2007. Whipped it around like it was a rental, which it was. Whipped it around slowly, mind you. Tore up some pizza with those pizza cutters. Drove nowhere in particular on some days. Drove past Koreatown! Tore up some kim chee with those pizza cutters (just kiddin). Next February, I bought the babe pictured in the lower left hand corner. I just like the growl of an 8. My first drive as a kid was a '73 Impala with a 400.

I don't tell folks they have an ugly car, even if it was. Thems' fightin words.

No way was I going to drive it into lousy neighborhood, 6 or 8. In California, if you take anything remotely nice or looks nice in shady 'hoods be ready to draw contempt and not jealousy. They'll be likely to trash it or roll a shopping cart into it out here. No way was I going to drive into Eastlos. (East Los Angeles) Lots of folks out here can't tell a 6 cylinder Mustang from an 8 cylinder. Sad but true.

I really don't know what I'm sayin, but I'm just sayin. BTW, I've lost 10 lbs since this pic. You can never be too cool or too thin.

That is a lovely cabriolet sir. I tip my expensive hand woven Tommy Bahama safari hat to you.

I also appreciate you confirming my point that most non-enthusiast can't tell the difference between a 6, 8, gt, boss, etc. Hell, I can't even tell the difference; don't care. It's a mustang cabriolet, a sports car driven for fun on weekends, it must be fast.

I guess it's safe to say you have upgraded over the years. What turned you into a cabriolet man? I'm guessing it was the "S word". Status.

That is quite a pretentious cd you have there. I will try out the classical music approach. I'm thinking a little "ode to joy", a wealthy man's hand woven Tommy Bahama status hat, and a pretentious pipe may serve me quite well at the bus station. I like to coast through a few times around the 5-6 PM hours as it seems this is the time when we have the finest concentration of peasants. I will let you guys know.

Why? Bluecar already confirmed that most can not tell the difference. It is my belief that of the few that can, at least 95% are going off stickers and badges alone. The remaining few are part of that enthusiast crowd, that 0.0001% that I can not impress either way. Statistically speaking, I am due up to run into an enthusiast right around April 21, 2013. I will update this thread when that occurs.

Like I said, I most likely will not buy wheels. I am already getting tons of attention as evidenced by the over 1000 hits on this thread (on a site that usually has under 10 active members), and the many paupers, serfs, and tenant farmers I have made green with envy out in the streets.

After I purchase my pipe and my Beethoven CD I will make the decision as to if I need to purchase more accessories for my cabriolet.

You remind me of my manservant; the one who drives the 2001 Mustang Hard Top "Thing". Like yourself, he too enjoys copying my mannerisms. He says it makes him feel wealthy.

You two should meet one day. He is out pressure washing my deck at the moment while I lay here in bed slumming it with you bums on my iPad. I will let you know if he's interested. Around noon I like to toss a few treats out the door (makes him feel special) so I will ask then.

I do hope that you mean iPad2. The iPad was so... Yesterday.

The biggest problem I see with the whole Cobra Clone thing, is that it has the potential to tell others that you're not happy with the decision you've made and that you try to aspire to the heights of others. This will just not do. Inversely, you must be confident in the fact that your ride is what the Cobra must aspire to.

Lastly, please do not forget your ascot.

Per dictionary.com:

cab·ri·o·let   [kab-ree-uh-ley] Show IPA
noun
1.a light, two-wheeled, one-horse carriage with a folding top, capable of seating two persons.
2.an automobile resembling a coupe but with a folding top.

Cabriolet, truly is an elegant word. Love the way it rolls off the tongue; cabriolet.

Ok guys, just wanted to get your opinion on a few pipes I have been looking at. I'm really not looking to spend too much, $100 or less, as I have no interest in smoking tobacco and I have an assortment of glass pipes for my other smoking needs. I am set on something in a darker hue such as cherry or mahogany. Please give me your feedback on the three pipes below. If you have any other suggestions they would be appreciated as well.

TIA
SK

I am really loving the pipe below. Sadly I have been unable to find it in stock anywhere. This is one pipe I would be willing to go well above $100 to obtain.

I think a flesh colored pipe for you to smoke would better suit your "status"
