Ok, I'll try to keep this as short as I can...

I bought this car last year, it was popping thru the intake, would sometimes hesitate at WOT and would sometimes stall out when I stopped at a stop light.

I replaced the plugs, plugwires, cap, rotor, and fuel filter, it got better and would not stall out, but would still hesitate when WOT and pop thru intake when cold.

I installed a ported intake, 65mm TB, replaced the fuel injectors, installed a 3G alt, and a dyna-mod TFI over the winter.

The car turns over, but won't stay running. If I give it some gas it will try to stay running but is extremely rough and the whole car shakes, if I let off it dies. SMELLS LIKE GAS in the engine bay, but there are no gas leaks that I can see, all injectors are dry on the outside.

I pulled a sparkplug and it's very wet with gas.

Last fall I marked the dizzy, the block and the cap before I removed them so I am pretty sure I have them back exactly as before. I have triple-checked my firing order, counterclockwise 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8 and wires go 1-2-3-4 from front to back passenger and 5-6-7-8 from front to back drivers side.

I follow the proper torque procedure for the intake and used new gaskets, surfaces were completely clean.

I really appreciate any ideas guys. I am lost.

update

Update...

Found a plug wire that was not "clicked" on all the way. Also the BAP sensor hose had a small crack on the back of it. Replaced that, put the plugwire on and it idles now, still rough though. Going to check timing and TPS and go from there.

thx

Thanks yeah I have been.

Car is pretty much the same as last fall. Absolutely zero off-idle torque. I slowly let out on the clutch and the car dies. My bone stock rusty 88LX would pull itself forward if I did that.

I took it out for a short drive, if I punch it at anything under 3000rpms or so it pops loudly through the intake and hesitates.

I have read TONs of threads in my searching...

Popping through the intake is usually a lean condition correct?

Well....it's drivable now it's just still gutless.

Your timing is off. Mine did the exact same thing when I did my H/C/I.
Remove the #1 plug, disconnect the coil wire and have someone bump the starter while you hold your finger over the spark plug hole to feel for the compression stroke. Once you feel the compression, stop and remove the dizzy cap to see where the rotor is pointing. If it not pointing to the #1 plug wire you need to restab the dizzy.
Also see if the timing mark on the balancer is pointing to 0 TDC.
Do this and post back.
