Looking for reasonable shop for exhaust work

Beaverton, OR
I am lookin to throw some duals on my lil 6'er, but not the bolt on crap that you attach where the pipes meet after the cats. I was wanting to actually get cut off at the cats and run true duals, and have been told that going directly off each cat without an h or x pipe would probably sound a bit better and less raspy/ricey.

I have checked a couple shops in Beaverton, and they have quoted me at $550 for duals with Flow 40's. I can pick up new Flows for $60 a piece on EBay, so I don't see where the extra markup really is in terms of the cost. I know that I will probably need some tubing mandrel bent unless I can score a GT take off, but even then it shouldn't be THAT expensive.

Ok, what I am getting at is that I was looking to try and find a good quality shop who can do the work for cheaper and not rape my wallet in the process. I had planned on getting the Flow's from EBay to save on some costs, so I would probably just need everything cut, some tubing bent, and everything welded on. Probably going to go with 2.25" for now because I haven't decided if I will follow through with a TT on this car considering the costs to go forged with Stage 3 **** to beef the engine up enough to withhold the stress that would be put on it. Wow, what a long and horribly structured sentence.

But yea, if anyone knows of some good reasonable shops in the Portland area I would like to know. I see people in other parts of the country that only pay up to $350 for their duals and can't fathom why it is so expensive in this area.

Exhaust is very much a "you get what you pay for" thing. I would highly recommend Punks up here in Vancover, but I doubt that he would be the cheapest. He does top notch work, all of our race cars and all of our customers with specialty stuff. You wont find a better fit around. (360)693-2000 tell him AFP sent you.

Darrell's Muffler shop on 82nd Ave will hook you up for pretty cheap. They cut out my old stock mufflers and welded in my Flows for like 35 bucks (i bought the flows myself), and they did it in about 20 minutes.

Santa? Your alive? Havent seen you in a while. Was beginning to wonder.

Give All ford performance a call over in Vancoover. They will hook you up for a decent price.

My opinion... Bassani and Mac both make a dual kits for the v6'ers both priced reasonably, 2 of my friends did dual bassani catbacks, 1 one on a 03 sonic blue v6 and a 00 v6. sounded awesome, I have a 91 gt, Ive had all 3 flowmasters then mac and now bassani on mine granted its a V8 but flows would be my last choice.

I have also been told that Spintechs sound great on the 6'ers too. I just want to avoid something bolt on that attaches to the Y on the middle of the exhaust system after the cats meet and go into the muffler. I'll check into Bassani. I had considered doing dual side exhaust with a Borla system, but that crap is just too expensive. I know it won't sound as mean as a V8, but I do want a nice low rumble without too much rasp. Thanks for the info. I'll give a Punks a call when I am ready to get everything done to see what the financial damage is :D

I have also seen v6'ers bolt on stock v8 exhaust straight and i it works, then go from there?
