Hi, I am looking for a 04 or newer GT for a donor car for a 66' vert that I am doing.
So far I am tracking Manheim autions and doing lots of searches on line with no luck.
Do any of you have a leads or sources that could help. Thanks

Try looking for a junk yard that specializes in Fords. There's one in Orange County in southern California where I found small pieces that no one else would even stock, even the dealers.

still going to be a tough find, in all honesty you are better off just buying the engine and piecing it together....alternatively there are salvage auctions, usually dealer only...I used to work for manheim, and another auction by the name of Adessa...manheim was bigger, but Adessa also had quite a few cars...and then of course you can try searching craigslist just about every day in any city anywhere near you

Thanks, I do have a in at Manheim with a dealer I will continue to look. I would like to have it all so I don't get nickel and dimed to death. I am still trying to fine someone who has done a 66' vert install of a 4.6

I'm doing a 66 coupe 4.6...cant be much different...but I dont like the 3 valve engines...I think Ford wasted a huge amount of money developing them simply because they already had a 4.6L capable of 300HP with the 4 valve...flows better...makes the 3 valve look like a waste of time...however they do sell a crate engine 3 valve for $4500 new from ford motorsport making 350HP and 330ft/lbs...not too bad for a new crate engine direct from ford....no ECU though

Also, 99-04 were the New Edge Mustangs, 05 and up is the current model. Just to be clear, you are looking for the current model Mustang? (your original post says 04 or newer)

The WOW factor, not sure what you mean. but if you mean a head turner than yes. I have done two clones with 289s in them and now I want something that runs and handles more like to days cars. I am not sure how far I will take it towards the WOW. I like the fact that these are different than what we see around here and the 32 valve looks like the motor for me. So I am still looking if you know of one please let me know. Thanks.

There's a huge yard in VA called east coast auto that specializes in wrecked late models.

It may be a bit of a drive; but I know of an '08 the just was totaled in Fayetteville, NC this past Monday. Owner has only had it for about 5-6 months at the most; the other driver ignored his headlights, high-beams and driving lights and turned in front of him at the last possible second. He took good care of the car; had been installing "warranty-safe" improvements; and had it running pretty strong.

Sorry, I forgot that "The Lounge" is a 'member's only' page; it wasn't until I hit the forum section on my wife's laptop (and didn't see what I was looking for) that it dawned on me......

The car in question (doing a burnout in the middle of one of their weekend cruises) is posted up on the "Front Page" of sandhillsmustangs.com with an "RIP, Silverstang" caption under it. If you go into the Forum itself; look for a banner ad for "T&L Towing" - the Mustang's owner (Travis) is the "T" in the company name and their office is his house, so the number will usually get him. If not, you'll get his brother Levi.

Travis is friends with my daughter and her husband - the whole club is pretty much like a big family- and I'll ask about the car next time I talk to one of them; which usually will be in the next 24-48 hours.
