is there a noticeable difference in the 99+ cobra brakes and say, a set of brembo/baer touring/pros (not the ridiculously expensive ones, but the set that'll cost me 2k all around)

I'm just wondering if I can justify the extra 1000 bucks on baer/brembo or if the ford cobra conversion will suffice

I drive my car somewhat hard... today after playing around with a supercharged gtp my rear right caliper seized and the cylinder then snapped off it's mounting bolt.. so I guess now is a good time to do my upgrade

So the real question is what's the difference between the cobra upgrade 13" front 11.65" rear /w slotted rotors for heat dissapation and possible warping and the baer or brembo zinc slotted/cross drilled.

keep in mind I rally, drift, and drag so I need very good stopping power. the stock braking system just barely works for me. my front rotors are blue, my rears are warped.. and they're only 9 months old (made by KVR).

just to let you know, the baer setup is the same as the cobra one, jsut with better rotors. teh calipers are the exact same PBR ones made in Australia.

i run the Brembo front setup. it is a 4 piston caliper so you will have to make sure your wheels clear.

I can only compare stock vs. what I have now. Deffinatly a difference. I was going pick a point and test stopping distances for stock vs. the bear kit before I got them installed, but I forgot. I like the way they look too.

I dont have any pictures yet, otherwise I would post a few.

the baer kit is not an upgrade over the cobra kit. it has prettier rotors and that is about it.

the brembo kit is an upgrade but it is 1k.

If I were doign this I would do cobra, mach 1, bullitt calipurs up front, paint my rears to match and buy some nice rotors and stainless lines. way cheaper than the baer kit and should provide good looks and equivelent stopping. make sure you get coated rotors or they will look crappy just like the stockers. I would run coated plain rotors I I could find them you don't need slotted or drilled rotors.
