Honestly I thought I was going to hate the grabber blue on your car, but the last photoshop picture is killer! Looks real nice with the stripes. Black windows and black fr500s....

Mix 3&4 together, thats the way to go IMO. I like how the black has a dark charcoal quality to it, (at least on my screen it is.)

Those look really good...pretty close to the paint actually. I took some cell pics of the paint and of a stand that he made to hang his paint gun on. It gets bighter and looks more like Grabber blue in the light and then looks a lot darker in the shade.

i dont think ts gonna look good. you know you could buy even black to darker then blue up and mix it till you get a dark blue shade you like. ( like org color and spend about 50 bucks in doing so. )

I personally think that would be a awesome look for your car.
Hard to tell how would the color look painted, but i strongly recommed trying it. Adding some pearl effect would also be impressive as that paint seems to be so vastly effected by light.

Go for it, you can always sand it a bit to spray a different color if the result is not something you'd like to have.

THE FIRST PHOTOSHOP,the one with the thick stripe and 2 small ones with blacked out headlight buckets and trim,i wonder how that some chop would look with the belt molding black too.looks sick.and deep dish fr500s would just set that thing off.

I've been leaning more towards a big fat Boss style black hood...we'll see!

I would tend to do more of a fat center stripe up the hood and black out across the grille/headlight buckets rather than blacking out the whole hood. blacking out the hood and grille/headlights would be too much black too close together and leaving the grille/headlights blue i think is too much color on the nose. thats just me, though.

the key here is going to be prep...if you take the extra time to prep the car well, the paint is going to come out much much better, even if its not laid down 100% perfectly.

Yeah in all reality this will probably be a winter job. I've got a fair amount of body work to be done and i want it perfect before it gets paint. I figure any mistakes can be sanded and buffed as long as the body is straight and prepped good.

I'm a little torn on this whole thing though...there's one big issue i don't like. We only have this one gallon of paint, and that's not gonna be enough to paint the door jams and under the hood and trunk. So, i have a couple options on what to do. Obviously this isn't going to be a show car paint job...so i can either wait all together and buy another gallon when i get the cash, or i can take the code to the paint store and get the same color put in spray cans and i can mask off the jams and paint them myself later.

Then on the OTHER hand, i'm half tempted to just say screw it and save up for some nice black paint and do it that way. It's tempting to do it with the blue since it's free, but if i have to buy more paint then i may just hold off a little longer and get the color i really want.

If your going for a black color do what I did and get the paint code 99k they used it on the grand nationals back in the day and it sprays real good.

I think the first photoshop with the grill and headlight buckets black would look SICK with a all black hood.Notches rule but 4 eyed notch is the best looking fox of them all.FTMFW

could you rattle can the door jams? If its not a show car it might get you by. I went with OMNI black an OMNI clear coat, its not that expensive an stands up pretty well.

Yeah and i know i could rattle can the jams just as well as the rest of the car is painted...i can lay down some nice paint with a can so i probably will go the cheap route and make the best of it for now. I live in an apartment too so i wouldn't get a show quality paint job if i could afford it.
