My question for ya'll today is:
First of all I own a 02 Mustang GT 5peed.

How come when I put my foot behind the clutch pedal, and lift upwards just a lil bit. I notice after doing that the pedal becomes looser, and I almost have to push the pedal to the floor for the clutch to engage into gear?
I don't even know why I did that.

Thanks for any info............................................oh and how would I be able to adjust the clutch cable so that I would not have to push the clutch pedal so far down to engage.......

:bang:

This is kind of hard to explain, so bear with me. The clutch pedal has a pivot point in the middle, so that wnet you push it down, the cable is actually moving closer to you to disenguage the clutch. When you put your foot on the other side of the clutch, for what ever reason that you do this, it is just sliding the part of the pedal that is on the cable down the cable. Look under your dash and look at the cable while you do this, you will see what I am talking about. I hope this kind of helps.

It's the clutch self-adjusting procedure - According to my Haynes manual (it's also in the Mustang owners manual) "Pull up on the clutch pedal to the upmost position. This procedure will separate the adjuster pawl from the adjuster quadrant and allow the clutch mechanisms to self adjust."

EXACTLY!. This is the reason I did this in the first place. I wanted to see if it would automatically adjust itself.....But it doesnt. I guess my car does not have that option. So, do any of ya know how I would go about re-adjusting it?
