Whats up guys? I'm trying to shed some more pounds from the vert, right now I have taken off that 25lb weight that is behind the foglight and i've lost the x-brace (so I could fit my L/T's). Now I need more ideas of weight reduction that won't kill driveability. I'm working on my suspension stuff right now so that should help some, but I need some other ideas. Thank for any help.

Differential balance weight (dogbone)
Air conditioning
Smog pump
Fog lights and brackets
Rear seat
Carpet/sound deadening in car
Trunk liner
Spare tire and jack
Strut tower brace
Tailpipes
Replace seats with lighter stuff

The above stuff should make a pretty big difference. Your off road mid-pipe probably saves you 20lbs over the stock pipe already.

Losing Weight in a Vert:

1.) Wait until it's above 90 degrees outside & the sun is shining.

2.) Make sure vert top is up.

3.) Get in car. Start it.

4.) Turn the heat on full blast and sit there for at least 6.5 hours.

LOL, J/K man. But while I'm here.... I wonder if hard top cars have this weight in them behind the foglight? What is it used for?

no just the verts, to help reduce cowl shake from what i understand. when i took it out its cylinder shaped, and it seemed to me like it weighed about 40 lbs but it says 25 lbs right there on it. I took it up to 90mph and I couldn't feel any difference as far as cowl shake or less driveability. Off the line though I can definitely feel a good bit of difference.

Yeah, If I can drop 100 lbs I can gain a tenth LOL!! Where you at in NC?

anybody got any pics of a vert without the backseat? i know it only weighs like 10 lbs from what paul had said, i just didn't want to take it out in fear of it looking like crap, but I am 6'3 so no one car really ride comfortably in the back seat without sitting sideways. what is the differential dogbone weight? whats its purpose? I had heard something about it and like if you dont have stock gearing it doesn't do anything for you, so I guess i could take it out. I was trying to find a set of lightweight drag wheels, but I don't want to have to use spacers and other tricks to fit a set over the front brakes, any suggestions? The car is going to be 80/20 drag/street so I don't care about making long trips or having to swap my street tires for drag tires.

Just yesterday I was thinking about taking out all of the hydraulics for the top. I wonder if the power system provides and type of support for the top, or if we can just take it all apart?
