I'm trying to swap my front springs but cant get the new ones in, i had race craft lowring springs on it and i was going to switch to bbk progressives but they arent fitting i tried using a spring compressor and also tried using the jacking method any ideas here would be helpful. i also am tryin to get the pully off my power steering pump but its not coming off even with the special puller tool. help!!

What do you mean by not fitting, width or lenght?

Explain how you are using the puller, you could be making a minor mistake of screwing in the install part and accidently doing it backwards. My buddy did that and ruined my puller, luckily it was MAC and I got a new one for free.

alright, hooked up the puller and set the ratchet to tighten and it didnt really do anything and the i set it to loosen and still didnt do anything. and for the springs. i had racecrafts in there but theyre out now i was gonna put in my bbk progressives but they are alot longer than the racecrafts by like 2 coils. so im not sure which ones i should use or how i should get them in.

Try this:

Turn the puller screw all the way back, then put it into the pilot hole on the shaft. Then position the two collar halves so that they fit behind the the pulley ridge on the hub and the flange on the puller. Slide the sleeve over the collar halves to hold them in place and crank away. It will take some effort, but it will come off.

If you have that puller he showed you it should come right off.

As for the springs you just need a better compressor to get it to fit. That is all.

The non compressor method is often referred to the MFE method on the Corral (if you wanna search). I DONT recommend this method for someone unfamiliar with suspension work, esp given the height restrictions you've mentioned.

Good luck.

i was thinking of tryin the way where you dont use the compressor but for this to work do i have to have my struts and tie rods hooked up?

Yes you do, to get the full travel. I usually undo the balljoint and leave my spindle on so I don't have to deal with the brakes in the way and the hose getting yanked on possibly. Do you have them unhooked now?

yeah theyre unhooked, all that is still hooked to the a-arm is the ball joint given the fact that im replacing my rack n pinoin right now too. but after i get that in should i just hook evertying back up and use the mfe method?
