Hello! I'm trying to wrap up this EFI project on my '66 but things are just going slowly. If you could please help me identify these things in the photos I would be greatful!

A, B, and C - can you please tell me what connects right here?

D - this looks as though air passes through it and it connects to the Throttle body via Dii?

E - does this connect to the coolant coming out of the heater core or somewhere different?

F - I have no idea where this should connect to?

G - is that for the return fuel line to connect to ?

I'll still have a spot on the thermostat housing to connect the water hose that runs into the heater core, does this get plugged or ?

...and I know the engine needs painting - I just want to get this thing on the road ASAP. :D

A- ACT (air charge temp) sensor, tells the computer what temp the incoming air is.
B- this is the port for the temp sensor that drives the temperature gauge. EFI cars have 2 temp sensor 1 for the gauge and 1 for the computer. The other one, ECT, is on the black heater piping on the pass side of the intake
C- There is supposed to be a nipple there that is for a coolant hose to the EGR spacer
D in the first set of pics- To the heater core
D in the second set of pics- Supplies coolant to the EGR spacer
E- Heater core
F-Connects to the water pump
G- Fuel line not sure whether it is supply or return.

The other nipple on the t stat housing is the bypass hose and it connects to the water pump. It is a formed hose and basically just a little 90 degree bend. You can get it at the auto parts store.

Thanks for the reply!

Does it matter which one D & E connects to? (such as into heater core and from heater core?) Also, If I'm going to do the EGR delete, then do I just plug up that second Dii and C? Or should I just put it on anyhow and connect it all up even though it will be deleted? I assume I can omit putting on the EGR spacer - please correct me if I am wrong, thanks!

It depends on the heater core. For a Fox, the heater core has different size inlets. And there are custom hoses that go between those tubes to the heater core. One hose has different size ends. So, for a Fox, you don't have a choice. :)

So, for your setup, you can hook it up in any way that works for you. Just make sure you have a restrictor in one hose. Otherwise, you can blow out the heater core.

If you're not using an EGR, you can either connect them together, or block both of them off. That's what I do. Yes, I've done it both ways. :)

also, I noticed something needs to connect to the throttle body - is that just a vacuum port that I can connect to another vacuum source? or must it go somewhere in specific?
Picture? :) That may be for the hose that goes to the oil fill tube. It's part of the PCV system.

Do you mean this tube?

The tube/fitting on the TB goes to a fitting that is on the oil filler neck. You can't see the fitting on the oil filler neck because the fitting points towards center of the engine. A vacuum line connects the two fittings.

Yea, my heater core connections are both the same size... so I'm going to have to come up with something to connect it to the offset size on the rail.

Can you elaborate on what you mean by a restrictor on one of the hoses? What kind of restrictor should I get for it, and also do you know where I could find one?

As for the TB, the picture you provided shows that same piece, can I leave it unconnected and open like that one is in the photo?

Thanks!! :)

EDIT: this is stangman16, forgot to log off my friends computer & login my UN

See: http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?t=634569
You want something that *will not rust*, will fit the heater hose, and has about an ?3/8th? opening. That prevents the full water pressure going through the heater core. If you ask in the thread, maybe someone has picture of one. I looked, and I don't. :-(

For *your* setup, use a breather cap on the valve cover. For the fitting on the TB, just block off that fitting.

Thanks for the info, I think I've decided to just bypass the heater core for now, so do I just connect the two ends at the end of the coolant rail together? If so, how do you connect the two different sizes together?
Yup, you can bypass the heater core. People in the warmer states do it all the time because a heater core R&R is a PITA!

It's easy to connect the different size hoses. Go to Home Depot. You just need to get some size adapters and pipe. You can do with plastic, brass(?), or threaded steel(?). Just get the correct size pipes, get the correct adapter(s), and put the together. The threaded pipe may be easier. But, I'm not sure of the small sizes.

Bring the correct size hoses, go to Home Depot, and the plumbing Dept guy should be able to set you up.

Or, you *may* be able to find a hose with the correct size ends. One part store near me has those small hoses in front of the counter. So, you can look through for the correct sizes.

BTW: I found out that despite the zillions of fox stangs sold, the ONLY place I could find a correct hose to the heater was from Ford/FRPP. All of the aftermarket ***** hoses had the bend at the wrong angle it interfered with the cables. It's *close* on a fox stang. That small difference made a difference. But, the Ford hoses fit fine.

This is what your looking for! It's the original OEM restrictor I found when I replaced my heater hose.
As far as where to buy this restrictor there have been 3 -4 threads recently and and there is no clear cut answer as to where to get the restrictor.
Some say you can get them from Ford, and some say that it comes with the new hose from Ford .
