Hey,

Can anybody confirm that the removable lower water inlet that has the oil filter boss is the same between different years of 4.6 2v?
( I.E. can I use one off of a 95- 96 lincoln on an 02' engine in a mustang?)

The one that came on my 02 engine is broken, and I was gonna go to the pull-a-part and get one off of the first 4.6 I come to.

Are you referring to the oil filter adapter?

If so, the block bolt patterns are the same. The adapter itself has some differences. For example, the Windsor is different than Romeo. The version with an oil cooler is different.

Recommend comparing the oil pressure sensor tap location and the radiator hose nipple if using from a different application. If it matches, likely it will work. Best to take the old one to compare.

Note, it is possible to interchange a Windsor version for a Romeo version. However, don't expect a complete plug and play experience. For example, I used a Windsor adapter on my Romeo motor. To be able to remove the oil pressure sender required an additional 90 degree fitting. The oil pressure sender is also in a different location which may affect the wiring.
