Lowering

I am considering dropping the car 2" because of the huge gap in the wheel well. Has anyone here dropped their car 2", how does it look AND does it rub. Thanks for the input.

It looks awesome i have the sportlines on mine and my prochamber drags on everything almost so consider that but the look is worth it i think just avoid speed bumps and rocks in the road.

i went with the pro-kit instead of the sportlines. my old car was slammed and didnt want to go through that again.

I have a 2.5" drop on my 2001 GT. Sportlines - 2", Steeda's X2 balljoint with no spacer - .5". Rear coils trimmed. I installed the Steeda bumpsteer kit, Steeda camber caster kit and the offset rack bushings. You can click on "My Garage" to the left to see the pics.

I just ordered H&R Supersports and KYB AGX fox-body struts off Ebay based on what I saw in 007's thread. His vert looked sweet! However, I'm really nervous that the front may be too low since my MRT catted H-pipe already has clearance issues going over speed bumps.

Add Maximum Motorsports caster/camber plates, rear adjustables (and installation) and this lowering project turns out to be a lot more expensive than I thought it would be. I'm also curious to see how much worse the handling and ride will be overall. Oh well, everyone knows looks are more important than brains and a nice personality.

Its not a cheap mod, but its well worth it. A dramatic handling improvement over stock.

True, I spent approx $1300 on Tockio Shocks & Struts, Steeda Sport Springs & Bumsteer kit, Pro3i Upper & Lower Rear Control Arms and CC plates. Plus urethane bushings all around. Expensive and timely mod, but WELL WORTH it. Sticks to the road like duct tape.

With the 2" drope,be prepared to be carefull around speed bumps,and certain slops on driveways and entranceways to plazas .
And you will also need some C&C plates to get proper alignment.
I have the Eibach sportlines.The drop looks sweet! Can be a headache at times,but it's the price you pay to look good.

I had the Eibach sportlines on my Cobra and it just wasn't right to me, still didn't have the stance I wanted. Now I have MM Coil overs up front on Bilstein struts and MM CC plates. Out back I have stock '01 GT springs with 1 1/4 coils cut and '93 Fox valved Strange adjustable shocks. Ride is a little rougher (out back) but the stance is just right. The front sits 25 1/4 ground to bottom of the fender lip.

I have the Sportline kit, 1.75" in back & 1.50" in front. Lower to notice a difference, not super low where speedbumps are a problem, handling is superb.
