On my Dads Verts we did not want to deal with sanding and painting and did not want to buy a fiberglass or a new steel lid so we removed the rack and painted some body plugs white and sealed the plugs with urethane and pushed them into the holes and you really don't notice till your really close and it is the same thing the Police do and with the Saleen wing it is really hard to notice.

I just drilled out the rivets and pulled it all off including the 3rd brake light.... Filled the holes, sanded smooth, and had it painted.. Looks like what it should've stock

Supposedly, the only reason the rack is there is to provide a place for the third brake light to mount and give the illusion of more luggage space. The rack itself is useless because the deck lid is too weak to support anything without denting.

I used the decklid from a coupe. Much easier than filling the holes.
