Hey guys i havent posted in awhile since my motor went out, but im just about done peicing out all the pieces for my new combo and I was wondering if the Lunati 51014 Cam would be a good choice for me.(Duration @.050 IN/EX: 218/226; Lift IN/EX: 500"/510"; LCA/ICL: 112/108) I got a new 306 shortblock coming with forged internals and dished pistons, Slightly ported stock E7's (ya i know, those are hopefully not gonna be on there to long, just on a real tight budget at the moment and got to get her runing) Trackheat intake, full exhaust and every other bolt on and a Vortech S-Trim at 11psi. I really like what i have read about this cam. Any input you guys have would be really appreciated! Thanks

That camshaft is an older design meant for exhaust port restricted heads, which is why it has a bit more duration and lift on the exhaust side of things. Now, having an exhaust bias like it does can be a benefit on boosted cars to try to evacuate all the forced air from the supercharger...

If you had aftermarket heads, you would benefit greatly from another cam, because the aftermarket aluminum heads have much better exhaust provisions...

I have one and it´s a good cam even N/A, but spect to raise idle to 850rpm to have it idle.

I run the Steeda #19 cam. Eventhough I am n/a, the cam is really good for superchargers. Powerband is like 2500-6000(i think). Plus, the cam works with our restrictive computers. It's only a .480 lift intake/exhaust, but it has a nice lope to it .

There was a guy on the Corral using that cam with AFR's or TFS heads IIRC

That combo produced some curves that left a lot to be desired IMHO

btw ... that combo was NA

Not too many peeps have used it from what I've been able to find
so
Not a lot of data is around to use for research

When you don't have much data
you are always at more of a risk :Word:

With the blower ... that can change things as it is gonna cram the mix in there
no matter what ... but still ... you are wise to pick a cam that will be the most
efficient for your combo.

That's why I got it, wanted a cam with good street manners.

In no way am I disagreeing with you
and
I don't mean to imply the cam is bad or anything like that

but

Can you provide some data to take us beyond opinion

Perhaps ... expound on those ... great numbers

m0l0 gave us his combo as seen in his sig which kinda helps everybody
see his application

Maybe you could provide a dyno chart or 1/4 mile times or list of your combo
parts or something along those lines

Since the original poster wants to go along the path you have already been
down ... I'm sure your newest data will be helpful to him

Absolutely nice video, its nice to know that it fullfills the spectations this cam on a blower, on other things how would it look on a KB or maybe a turbo , only time will tell

And yes i trully agree 504 rwhp would put anyone a big smile like that

Badgt - Imagine what numbers you could get with a custom cam for your setup
