there is a maaco here in columbus that does awesome work for cheap....paint quality is way better than the "BIG DOLLAR" body shops!!! my neighbor had his camaro painted and had ghost flames sprayed and he's constantly winning trophies at regional car shows with his 500 dollar paint job!!!!! when people ask who did the paint he tells them...the look on their face is priceless...now to be fair he wet sanded the finished job and did his own prep work

The prep work is 90% of a good paint job. Anyone can spray paint...

In fact I had a buddy who worked at our local Macco. For every registered "autobody technician" they had 4 highschool dropouts (My buddy was one of them) working for min wage and with very little supervision.

They do tend to paint your windows and wheels for free tho!

I do supposed not every franchise is the same. I know the one in my neck of the woods is pretty damn scary...

I dont think there is anything you can do. I seriously doubt that taking action with the BBB is going to do anything.

I had a dispute for no products shipped with a company for 6 months! They had charged my Visa twice. Numerous letters and calls to them had the same answer of "It's on the way". After writing the BBB, I had an immediate refund, the products owed and a letter of apology. They can help if you ask them.

After reading all the threads, you probably know now that everyone of those places is different. I also had a bad experience with MAACO. I've learned that before I take my cars in for any kind of work, I ask for references and examples of there work. If they can't supply them, its time to walk away.

Sorry about your frustration; my opinion if it matters... cut your losses (which there should be none if they haven't started) and save your money and take it to a reputable body shop ~ you get what you pay for.
