Mac Longtubes?

Is there a huge difference between MAC longtubes and BBK longtubes? I ask cause i can get MAC longtubes with HTS coating for like $320 and BBK longtubes are like $420. Now if we talk about ceramic coating MAC and BBK are the same at $499

My car has never and will never see snow and rarly sees rain, should i get the macs with HTS or save up and get the BBK coated? Thanks

Aside from the coating and price, there isn't much difference between the MAC and BBK LTs. The MACs will be a little easier to install since you don't have to mess with the dipstick tube like you do with the BBKs.

I chose the MACs because of the cheaper price, and I have absolutely no complaints.

I had planned on going with MAC's but i read some horror stories about them rusting like there is no tomorrow, THats all i worry about

The coating that MAC uses isn't great, but there are also quite a few people who bought the ceramic coated BBKs and are dealing with rusting issues as well. Given the weather conditions, any brand header is prone to rust.

To delay/prevent my headers from rusting, I sanded them down and coated them myself. I put on a few coats of high quality, VHT spray paint, and so far, I haven't had any problems with rusting, peeling, or flaking.

i am about to order bbk long tubes with ceramic coating for 413 with shipping and tax should i get them or justget the mac headers. it from a friend that works a shop so i get a discount on them.

I too have been wondering how the HTS will hold up, but I don't drive mine in the snow or rain and it's always garaged so i'll be going w/ the MAC/s.

I found mine for $290 HTS coated, haven't gotten them yet but will be buying them in the spring, after i get all my headswap parts. :nice:

You might want to look at Jet hot L/T there a bit pricey but they have a lifetime rust warranty and a 3 year warranty on the coating. You also dont have to pull them to get at your transmission which will save time and money. They also have a coated X-Pipe which has the same waranty as the Headers themselves.
