WHY THE HELL DOESNT THIS FIT?

I already modified my prochamber so i cant send it back, i ordered this stuff ages ago and never had time to swap out my bad motor and check this stuff.
so i have no part numbers or invoices or anything.
and theres no part number stamped on the prochamber.

did i get a prochamber for an automatic car by accident? did i get a 5 speed 351 prochamber on accident?

did i get the wrong longtubes on accident?

Ive heard it took a little muscle to get it to line up but this is WAYYYYY off

ill have to go take pictures of the entire prochamber to compare

oh, and i have twisted wedge heads, which have the same exhaust port height as stock heads

so its not an issue with cylinder heads causing the problem.

i measured from one end to the other of the header side pipes.
was 16 3/4" ?

forgot to mention that

I cut off the tube for the smog pump hookup, welded it shut, and painted it so it wont rust.
you can see it in the cellphone picture above this post.

yes they are.
they go around the steering shaft.
and they are the bigger of the primary tubes.
they are suppose to be the 1 3/4" with the 3" collector.

and the prochamber is suppose to be the matching 5 speed one

Maybe by doing that with the pipes not on the car they could have warped? I don't have experience with MAC. The last time i installed long tubes and pro-chamber it was a Bassani kit.

My advice would be to call MAC and see if they can give you the measurements from the prochamber you wanted and ask them about the fitment. That is extremely far off.

I also noticed those two hangers on the H-pipe. Does the fox have the rubber hangers for them by the k-member?

It doesn't look like you do. Those hangers are the same ones on my SN95 (94 GT)

not even a chance, they are exactly where they were before the cutting or welding

mac had no prochambers in house to measure to tell me anything, i was hoping somebody here had one to measure?

the hangers are suppose to go on a bracket that mounts to the transmission, although ive never seen the bracket and down own one.
I need to pick one of those up somewhere

That makes me think you got the SN95 pro-chamber.

Stage 3 Motorsports 1979-93 Mustang 5.0L 2.5" MAC Short ProChamber (5 Speed, Aluminized)

This MAC from a 87-93 has no hangers.

Looking at it one more time, I think the MAC h-pipe is the wrong one seeing how far the pipes are apart. I'd take it to a professional muffler shop to get it fixed.

I reallllly dont want to take it to a muffler shop and have them wack and mangle the prochamber more
especially if its just the wrong part number.

i just checked macperformance.com, and they show their 79-93 prochambers with hangers
so F me, thats not the problem

Are LT headers on foxbodies at different heights? Just looking at yours it looks like one of yours is at least two inches higher than the other.

I don't even think that could be whacked to fit, most likely cut and welded

for what it's worth, i have BBK longtubes and bought the corresponding prochamber, i had fitment issues just like you did... i brought it to an exhaust shop and he made an elbow-like adapter to mate the two flanges, wasn't expensive and sure saved my ass
