Mac Prochamber

Will the Prochamber really deepen up the tone of my exhaust, I want a real deep muscle car sound but i dont want to go the no cats route. Will I have a problem passing emissions with the prochamber? Where's the best place to buy one??

Pro chamber has no cats, there's usually plenty of shops in the bad sections of town that won't even care if you have cats or not it's still not impossible to pass emissions. There is a catted PC but it won't be much louder than stock. If you want prochamber tone with cats a High Flow H-Pipe will be very close.

The Prochamber has no cats. And from what I've heard it isn't very loud, but i don't know for sure. I've read that it has a deep tone, but not too much volume.

oh ok, thanks for the input, any other suggestions on which h pipe to choose? which has best performance gains?

I have an 01 GT w/ prochamber (no cats) and 1 chamber flows and it sounds awesome. From idle to about 3000rpm it has a loud deep mean sounding tone and after 3000rpm the tone changes slightly (not as deep) and it just starts to scream. I love it . You definitely won't go unnoticed around town. I don't know how the prochamber sounds with other mufflers. I could also tell a big difference in power. As far as emissions go the off road prochamber is not supposed to pass emissions, but I have heard some have passed anyway. If you get the off road version you will need the MIL eliminators to take SES light off. I do belive MAC has a catted version now or you could have an exhaust shop weld cats in to make it legal. I purchased mine from partshopper w/ MIL eliminators for $288.

I have a prochamber w/ mac flowpaths, sounds bada$$ at WOT. You shouldn't have any problems passing inspection. Just make sure you pick up a pair of MIL's.

Mustangs can pass emissions without cats and have been able to do so for about fifteen years. Get the Pro-Chamber and tac weld the convertor casings around the pipe so that it looks like you have them on there. Go to a speed shop that does emissions testing and you should be fine.

I had a Mac Catback with a Prochamber...(trying not to be bias)...but I think it is the best mustang I have heard?...and I'm around mustangs a lot...my friend liked it so much he is going with the exact same exhaust I had...

Make sure you get the stud for the drivers side manifold so the Prochamber can seal to the manifold...I got mine at NAPA but don't remember the part #?

Believe the Napa part number is 600-1819 but dont quote me on that for sure. My prochamber is sitting on my floor waiting for the warranty to go away so I can put it on.

My pro-chamber is sitting in my room for the moment, but am gonna put it on here in the next couple of weeks to go with my Flowmaster American Thunder Cat-Back, I cant wait

About passing smog - What I am going to do is just keep the stock H and bolt that sucker back up when it comes time to get it smogged. Im not sure your laws but in CA, you cant even play. Must have stock H-Pipe. Good Luck with your decision

I used a Prochamber with both Mac Flowpaths and 2-chamber Flowmaster for a year. It was barely louder than stock at idle but got REALLY loud at higher RPMs. The interior sound of the Prochamber "box" moving the exhaust gases around got on my nerves and went back to stock H.

Page 44 of the 2004 MAC Catalog shows a catted pro chamber. Part number PC9904 for 99-04 GT's.

what do you mean by sound of "box" moving the exhaust gases around??
I am also interested in buying a Prochamber because i want something not too loud with my flowmasters. I want to be able to hear my stereo when crusing around at 2K..

I never noticed that sound...I had heard an offroad H pipe (though slightly louder)...did not sound as good as the Prochamber...I got a compliment every other day on my exhaust...no kidding...

Got mine from Partshopper also...got here within a week also...

RedStangGt99 , I noticed that you live in NY. Sometime very soon they are going to be enforcing extremely strict emissions laws in New York. They will be plugging into your computer and you must pass that test. Not too sure if plugging into the computer has that much to do with having cats or not, but you might want to check that out. There isn't going to really be a way to get around it either. I have heard that they are going to say pass or fail, then scan your registration and send it to the dmv who then prints out your inspection sticker and all of the shops will have to keep records and such. There probably is a way to get around it, but will be much more difficult. I have not confimed any of this, but just wanted you to be aware that the laws are changing.
