MAC Stainless Steel Mufflers?

Thinking about putting these in my 2.5" Magnaflow cat-back (it's TOO quiet). I gotta measure the muffler on my car to see if the MAC's will fit, but if they are the right size or will work with minor modification I'm gonna do it.

Anyone have them? Impressions about quality? I suspect they are well made like the rest of MAC's products.

I fixed your quote with what I really hope you forgot.

Mac products are near the bottom of the quality spectrum. I had to go through two sets of headers due to fitment problems and the current ones leak even when tightened and new gaskets are in place. The Mac springs I had on my '99 Formula were complete crap. I would have been better off with "$50 Super Mega Type R Springs" off of Ebay than with those POS.

However, their mufflers from what I have heard are OK but just stay away from their catbacks as the tips rust in no time. You have that covered though since you have high-quality catback tubing from the Magnaflow setup.

I did that with my Mach 1, it sounds killer! The stainless Macs sound alot better than the reg. flowpaths since the harmonics in the metal are different. They fit right in my magnaflow cat-back, just had to have the tailpipes welded on.

I've only used their exhaust products. I have a full MAC system from the heads back on my 90 GT and I've helped 2 other friends install MAC stuff with no problems from any of the parts.

I did have a MAC cat-back on my 2000 V6 and the tips rusted after 1 winter. :nonono: I got new tips for free. Now they have real stainless tips. But htat's besides the point.

I bought the Magnaflow because it's 100% stainless and I am driving this car year round in Upstate NY. After a few months now I am wishing I had bought a cat-back that's louder. The Magnaflow system is nice, but its the quieter system. I liked the MAC system on my 90 so I figured I'd buy MAC stainless mufflers for the 98 and put them in the Magnaflow system.
