Ok guys I ordered the Mach 1 Grill Delete from 50resto on the 11th of Oct. and it arrived today. It was a suprise for my wife for no particular reason.

This is how It started out.

Yeah Yeah I KNOW IT'S Dirty I'll wash it tomorrow.

The tools I needed and the stuff that was shipped from 50resto

I located the plugs that had to be removed. Hell one was missing just made my job easier.

I removed those

Then I could access the 7mm bolts and clips that are under the original grill.

The bolts were a little tough to get to. After that it came out easy.

3 years of crud, I could have sworn I washed this car before.

My wife helped me out by cleaning the surface before i put the grill in place

The delete panel mounting nuts were hard to get started so I pulled the lights out from their housing and that gave me more access.
I still couldn't get them started so I started them with the panel out of the car.
They are like speed nuts. Flat peices of metal that dig into the plastic to grip.
Once I got the backing nuts started outside everything went like clockwork.
(Kinda hard to see)

Here is where the only hiccup was in the directions. They say drill a 1/2" hole in the mounting area so the pony bracket will fit.
I assume because this is a 03 model (1st year of Mach 1) they all came with this type of bracket. (04's as well?)

The final result really cleans up the look of the car.
I love how it gives the car a more aggressive look.
Best of all my wife likes it and there will be peace in the Blue household. (for a few days anyway)

IMHO, it looks incomplete without that radiator cover piece from the 3 pc kit.. but much better than the factory grille that's for sure.

you are missing a piece...you got owned... you should have bought the 3 piece kit that costs the same price as the 2 piece...

This kit came to less than 40 bux. I like it fine. I could have bought the 3 pc kit i kinda like that you can see all the way. It reminds me of blacked out grill on my '68. As for the kit was inexpensive and looks good on the car and most of all I'm happy. Can't be for that.

well if you are happy with it then theres no problem... i got my 3 piece shipped for $48 all together... i think the extra $5-10 is worth it but to each his own

Just out of curiosity, why do you still have that Mitsubishi in your sig if you don't own it?

I just installed my grill delete a few days ago as well. Only thing I would of done if I was you was spray paint the screws black so the pony stands out more.

Man you read my mind I have the paint ready to go. It was getting dark and my buddy came over and wanted to have a beer at ye olde pub . Tomorrow I think I may spray the t bracket the pony bolts to and the screws.

you should of gotten the 3 piece for the same price as the 2 piece but nice setup it really look nice

Looks good, I also bought the 2 peice kit. I painted the screws black so it blends in a little better, heres a pic.


You can still see them but dont stick out as much..just a thought

for the same reason you have a car in your sig that doesnt even run... i dont know

ive also owned a 98GT and a 91 Stealth TT...

im not the only one with previously owned cas in the sig... almost everyone has it in their sig... nothing new

Looks sweet.
This is something that Ford should've done from the start with the edge body stangs in my opinion.

Well guys here it is Painted washed and wax'd. The t bracket and the screws disappear after they were painted. even more pleased with the results.
