Yes, the horse itself is mounted on a bracket and is attached to a t brace in front of the radiator. just ditch the bracket with the horse and you should be fine. And paint the t brace black to hide it better.

since i dont know what a backing nut/speed nut looks like, is there another way of removing the gap between the grill delete and bumper?

i heard double sided tape works? anything that lasts longer?

I bought the 2-piece set on Ebay, and it's already on its way to me. Is it possible to buy the 3rd piece separately (like from a Ford dealer) if I want to add it later?

BTW, I'm considering putting a custom emblem on instead of the pony.

Oh, and what would be a good way to darken the radiator? I'm assuming that regular black spray paint would be a bad idea. Maybe something high temp?

The reason why 2 piece kits are offered is because some cars like my 2000 GT are already equipped with the radiator opening cover, look thru your grille first. Are you asking can you buy a Ford part from a Ford dealer?

I don't guess I have really notice the difference in a two or three piece kit.
I would like to see the differnce before I buy my kit.

i think all light colored cars had that stock.

hey....does anyone have a gap between the installed facia piece and the bumber at the lower corners?? I have about an 1/8" gap there and cannot figure out how to get the piece to tighten down flush to the bumper....any suggestions???

XR3Z-8C299-BA is not the correct part # for the Mach 1 grill delete package. the correct part # is 2R3Z-8C299-AAA and sells for @$33.00
XR3Z-8C299-BA is for base models only.

Really? My local Ford wants $51 for the radiator piece and Randy at ModDepot wants somewhere in that neighborhood as well.

Saw post above mine, it costs $33

More accurately, I was asking if the radiator piece could be purchased separately from the other two, since I'm already going to have them.

What's with all the Mach 1 posing? J/K. All 99-04 Mustang Gt's should have came with the grill delete and chin spoiler from the factory - IMO, the front end just doesn't look complete without it. I do think the 3-piece grill delete is the way to go, but it isn't that obvious; I had the 3-piece on my Gt, then smashed the front end 2 weeks later. Next came the Cobra bumper.. Good thing is I kept the Mach 1 chin, so I have a spare.

I just put the speed nuts on as tight as possible from underneath, and my grill delete barely moved. The delete on my Mach 1 even moves a little bit, so don't fret that. I tried the double sided tape idea you heard, and it barely helped at all since the delete has a lip in the front - it keeps the mid section from touching the bumper.. if that makes sense.
