I just left my gf's house today in Schaumburg and was getting on 290, just got on the interstate when a black cobalt come across my lane sideways. I t-boned her at 50 mph. I had no chance to swerve barley hit my brakes before I hit her. I'm pretty sure the car is totaled, worst thing is I only had it for 3 weeks and was in prestine condition with only 9k miles on the car. I guess she lost control of her car because someone "cut her off" and she swerved to avoid them and completely lost control of her car. I don't know what to say but i'm completely devastated, completely at a loss of words or what to do. One thing i'm thankful for is no one was hurt in the accident.

Does anyone know how to go about getting the mods off my car if it is totaled out???

Good no one was hurt. I wish you the best with the insurance, I hope for your sake it's totaled, I'm sure you don't want something back that's been through something like that. I know it's no consolation but at least it's not a car that you had owned for a long time and was reaaallly attached to.

I can't even imagine buying a car and it's a crumpled mess after afew weeks of ownership. Of all the wrecked Mach's I've seen pics of, Azure Blue has to be the most wrecked. I hope it's totaled so you can buy another one that's in mint conditon. It would never be the same owning a wrecked car that's been put back together. Plus, you'd get screwed if you ever sold it. What a bummer. On the bright side, everyone is still in one piece.

Yea i hope that it's totaled, I refuse to drive a vehicle that has been wrecked like that. bags deployed, whole front end is crumpled, rear quarter panel needs replaced, most likely frame damage, I'm just worried that they will give me as much as a paid for it if it is totaled out

There was a witness that said the car did cut her off but the car did not hit her she simply lost control when she swerved. Basically she freaked out and put the car into a spin. No i don't live in schaumburg but my gf does, and that was the first time I took the car up there and most likely the last. Before this car I had a black gt.

Is it already out of your possession? Did the insurance company declare it a total loss? Did you get a bill of sale yet?
What I did was simply level with the insurance company, explaining that you have some parts that you want to exchange on the car. They shouldn't care as long as you replace them with the OEM parts. I had my insurance company tow my 02 GT to my house and put it in my garage so I could strip the valuables. I left the front Cobra brakes, Borla Stinger catback, O/R X, CC Plates, Springs, and LCAs, but I pulled the hood struts (Redline), Accufab TB and plenum, NOS direct port nitrous setup, Torq Thrust wheels, gauges, shifter, C&L inlet pipe, etc.
I was willing to pay for the tow myself, but they came through and decided to tow it from the dealership (where it originally was towed to and then declared a total loss) to my house (about 5 miles away). A week later the salvage flatbed came to pick it up. Fortunately I wasn't home to see it go, but my wife was, crying...
A couple days later I found my new ride, a TR 2004 Mach...so I feel for ya buddy. Let me know if I can help - feel free to PM me. Oh, and I'd be interested in that JLT CAI if it's not damaged.

When I totaled my 99 I first switched out the wheels back to the stock ones which I still had, while the car was in my drive way. Next day it was towed to
a dealership and they declared it a total loss. I asked the dealer if I could
switch out some parts, they said no problem, they didnt even watch me
do it. Got the TB, plenum, CAI, Optima battery, gas tank cover, some
interior billit. All this was soon transfered to my currant 04.
All I couldnt get was the exhaust, and UD pullies.

Nothing has been determined yet as far an insurance company is concerned, it happened on sunday and monday no one worked so hopefully by the end of the week I will. I definitely want the jlt intake, mgw short throw, mid pipe, and hood struts if they are salvagable for sure but it might be tough getting the exhaust. I sure hope its totaled i don't want a car back that has been in a wreck like that. I mean come on a 50 mph t-bone not totaled out don't think so i don't want it back, i'll just go find a new one. Yes i still have a bill of sale for the car as well but it retails for more than i bought it for.

No, I meant a bill of sale from you selling the car to your insurance company.
Let me know if you are interested in selling the JLT.

Thanks and best of luck. Hang in there. I thought the worst when I lost my beloved black GT, but not long after that I found my Mach. Maybe you'll end up in a Cobra?
