Well, I've upgraded my system. It's still a work in progress so excuse the mess, but you get the general idea. The sub box will be carpeted to match the trunk. The bolts from the Mach 1000 are still on the floor of the car so the box sits on top of them. I will probably cut the bolts out from the floor soon so my sub box will sit flat on the floor. There are towels right now under the box to keep it from tilting back under acceleration temporarily.

It was a pain in the ass to get this box in the trunk. I custom built it to fit just right. There is about 1" of clearance under the mach 460 speaker/amp enclosure and about 1/2" on each side of the wheel wells.

Sony CDX-MP70 CD/MP3 Receiver
Sony MD-65 Minidisc Changer
2 Kicker L7 12s
1000 watt rms amp
Kicker 5x7 speakers in doors
Kicker 5x7 speakers in mach rear deck enclosure

The Kicker tweeters are not installed yet in the mach tweeter pods as I need to make an adapter to get them to fit the stock location. Also I lost the Kicker tweeter flush-mounting cups.

I will also be getting a 4 channel amp for the mids/highs. Right now they are run off the head unit's power.

I spent about 2 days on this install in my garage and have the blood to prove it. I also didn't know you could fit a body in a Stang trunk but I know now. My body was sore as hell for about 3 days after this install.

Here ya go!

It's a minidisc changer. It fit without any adapters but just barely. It seems like Sony made this thing with the Mustang center console in mind! I had to drill a hole in the bottom of the console to run the wires though. So I basically have to remove the console if I want to remove the changer later.

Well guys, after almost a year I finished carpeting the sub box! :rlaugh:

Excuse the garage floor golden dust on the carpet. That will be vacuumed as soon as the carpet has a few days to get a strong bond with the box.

Next I have to call Kicker and finally order replacement mounts for the tweeters. See ya in about another year :nonono:
