I'm trying to install a set of the Mach 460 tweeters in my girlfriends car and can't get them to fit correctly. Are the pre-98 tweeter housings different than the 99-04? I know the wiring connectors are different, but the plastic directly below the speaker covers seems too thick and i cannot get the door panel on all the way with the speaker mounted. Are the 99-04 housings thinner or did they use different door panels for the mach 460 cars? Thanks for the help.

on my 97 door panels, I had to cut a notch in the doors to make the panel go back on all the way. Also, I cut off that plastic "clip" from the tweeters and just put the wirest together....just don't cut away too much door....you can't put it back once it is gone!
