Mach1 Strut Install Question

I just started the install of my '03 Mach1 springs and struts and I've got a dumb question about the assembly of the strut and how to attach the strut boot. The stock unit has a metal plate with 2 studs and 1 bolt hole for mounting to the strut tower. It also has a wider diameter extension on the underside for the strut boot to attach to. The new unit doesn't have any such extension to attach a strut boot. Am I missing something on the new strut hardware or do I just need to reuse the old hardware?

I'm heading over to a buddy's house who has an impact wrench to get the big nut off the top of the strut so that I can disassemble the old one. Needless to say I couldn't budge the nut without it spinning.

Reuse your stock hardware, or at least, thats what I did.
