MAF question

Guys,

When the MAF sensor is unplugged, the engines starts and idles high. When the MAF is plugged, the engine starts and then dies within 1/2 second.

Any thoughts on problem?

Replace the MAF?

I think you answered your own question. Try cleaning it first, then replace if problem persists.

I just learned that the computer needs to learn for a few mintues. Engine has not been started in a year and was disconnected during that time.
