My set up consist of. Motor wise.
Stock motor.
-Explorer upper and lower intakes
- 93 Cobra TB and EGR Spacer
- u/d pulleys
- timing @ 12
Now before intakes were installed and still running stock I started to develop a lag issue on acell. It almost felt like a turbo kicks in. Now we removed the stock MAF and cleaned it and it was like a new car. Well not long after I bought a 75m MAF calibrated for 19's. Used. Put it on and I felt a little more throttle response. Anyway it worked good. Well about 3 months later the intakes and TB ect.. went on. That has been close to a year now. Well the lagging is back. so I removed the 75m and cleaned it twice. No help. Put my stock one back on cleared the symptom by about 85%.
I ordered another stock replacement to test and runs now about 99%. Don't think it will get any better than that.
Now the questions. I want to go back to either a 73m or another 75m. I have been told the stock meters off the 94-95 GT's will work, but they have the 4 bolt flange. I don't want to cut the flange or replace the air box. My cost is $80 locally for the stock 94 one. I can order one through CJ for $185 and no modifications needed.
---- Can I take the known good meter out of the stock 94GT housing and put it in the 75m tubing that I already have, even though the tubing is a tad bigger???
Thanks
