MAF requirements for SC?

will my 73mm vortech (same as C&L) work with a SC??? i have heard of these "blow thru" mafs and wasnt sure what exactly is needed....

thanks for the help

little hint.. Vortech wouldn't sell them if they didn't work with their blowers

on a side note: Try not to let this thread turn into a C&L vs Rest of the Mafs thread.

also: The C&L you have is a draw through maf.. which means it is placed before the blower and reads air being SUCKED INTO the engine.

A blow through maf sit BEHIND the blower and reads that air...

You do not need a blow through maf. They are generally set aside for larger boosted applications with intercoolers and such. A blow through maf will also allow or a BOV to be used without adverse effects... where as a draw through maf would tend to work best with a by-pass valve. (although some people have gotten away with a BOV on a draw though maf.. its generally not reccomended)

awesome! it looks like all the base kits place the MAF before the compressor.

hehe not too long ago i was like DAMN the ol crappy stang has become something. sure its not the fastest stang but its got HOURS of work and lots of sweat into it. and compared to what it used to be, its a screamin demon now.

hows the powerdyne SC??

Yeah, I remember when I first started looking around on here (not signed up), your car was running 16s or something like that. You've done a lot of hard work and have yourself a nice quick car now. Good job

If your gonna boost it I'd use no smaller then a 76mm meter. 80mm would be nice with a set of 30s or 36s depending how much boost your going to run.
